The Right Mileage Chart and Credit Card

July 2008
Read Offline

Earn miles with a standard United credit card, using the standard United mileage award chart and a First Class seat on three-class domestic flights will cost you 60,000 miles.

However, with a Starwood Starpoints Amex card, you can get the same United Flight for 40,000 Starpoints. Here’s how: Transfer 40,000 Starpoints into your US Airways Dividend Miles account (which nets 50,000 miles with the bonus) and cash them in for the United flight using US Airway’s Star Alliance award chart (which is 10,000 less than United’s). 40,000 United miles won’t even get you Business Class!
