British Airways and Virgin have dropped fares from East Coast gateways to $2,122 (reg. $3,174) round-trip, and Continental and American have fallen to $1,448 (reg. $2,100). Continental’s new fares are valid to more European destinations than the other three carriers. Continental’s fine print: not valid on code-share flights; 60-day advance purchase; most cities allow departures from July 1 – Sept. 4; return deadline, Sept. 6; Saturday-night stay required; seven-day stay required on Saturday departures.
