American Airlines Doubles Down

AAdvantage members can earn double elite-status qualifying miles through June 15, on all purchased fares eligible for AAdvantage miles. The carrier is also offering AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, and Executive Platinum members the opportunity to select from a list of rewards including Admirals Club membership, extra AAdvantage miles, and giving AAdvantage Gold Status to a friend. US Airways Finds a New Way to Make You Pay

So now it costs $5 per flight to get a window or aisle seat in the first several rows of coach. Starting May 7, US Airways introduces “Choice Seats,” a way to market what had been free. The carrier is holding these seats open. You must check in at usairways.com between 24 hours and 90 minutes prior to departure to book one. Choice Seats are available on all US Airways operated flights except the US Airways Shuttle operated Saab 340 aircraft. Dividend Miles Preferred customers get Choice Seats free as well as exclusive access to exit row seat assignments. If you’re after these seats, the program will be a good one for those willing to flip for it as they should be in good supply.
