My take: While the routing from New York can’t be beat, lower fares might be available to Tahiti via Amex’s free companion fare program on Air New Zealand from LA. Singapore Deal for Amex Members Cardholders who purchase an Executive Economy Class ticket on non-stops from Newark or Los Angeles through April 30 get up to $150 off. Valid only on SQ19 and 20, or SQ21 and 22 for one-way, round-trip or open-jaw travel. Upgrades not permitted.

JFK to Midtown by Chopper American Airlines and US Helicopter have teamed up to provide the first helicopter airport shuttle service in New York in more than 20 years. The helipad is located directly below the new Admirals Club. The trip to the Manhattan Wall Street Heliport takes eight minutes. Perhaps the best part: Departing passengers can clear security and check-in at the heliport and avoiding the grueling process at JFK. Price: $139 one-way, plus applicable taxes/fees. Operates daily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

US Airways New Routes, Mileage Availability The carrier starts flying non-stop from Philadelphia to Stockholm daily on June 3 and continuing through Oct. 7; to Milan daily on May 30; and to Lisbon four times weekly (Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun) on June 7 and running through Oct. 28. A scan of random dates shows pretty decent availability of mileage awards and upgrades.
