Our super-powered Leg Stretch Strategy usually starts in Europe, so here’s how to get there cheap.

First Class Flyer loves the Leg Stretch Strategy (LSS) and there are many reasons you should too. The biggest reason travelers balk at the LSS:

“How to begin the process with the one-way ticket to Europe?”

Problem: Solved

In this month’s issue we have another great LSS for First Class travel to Europe and South America.

Get to Europe with Miles: FCF often publishes special reports on why one-way awards can be ideal for Business and First Class travel for many different scenarios. We’re revising the topic now because you should also keep one-way fares in mind when booking FCF’s Leg Stretch Strategy.

Get to Europe in Business Class on published fares: For less than $1,261 ONE-WAY.

The carrier: TAP Air Portugal, a Star Alliance partner (same as United).

The routes: Non-stop service from Boston, Miami, and New York (JFK and Newark) to Lisbon; and Newark to Porto, with onward connections to major cities Europe.

TAP Air Portugal New Business Class Seat

The Business Class cabin: A refitted Airbus A330-200 with flat-bed Business Class seats from Boston, New York (JFK) and Newark to Lisbon, other routes offer the older recliner Business Class seats. (Seat width is 20 to 22 inches.)

The fares: TAP offers many routes starting at under $1,400 one-way in Business Class.

Here are 21 sample fares:

From Boston: $1,262 to Barcelona, $1,262 to Paris, $1,273 to London or Manchester, $1,312 to Munich or Rome, $1,362 to Copenhagen.

From New York (Newark airport): $1,261 to Paris, $1,268 to London, $1,299 to Porto, $1,311 to Brussels, Luxembourg, or Amsterdam, $1,312 to Florence.

Mileage earnings: TAP’s J fares earn 125% award miles and 100% Premier Qualifying Miles (PQM) on United, but no PQD’s.
