British Airways is again offering 30% more miles than normal to Executive Club members who exchange hotel points for miles. The offer is even fatter if you’re a member of the Starwood Hotels Starpoints program, which already offers a 25% bonus. The BA bonus is offered on top of that.

I’ll do the math for you…

60,000 points (the amount required for a free economy class ticket to Europe on some carriers), transferred to BA from Starpoints gets the normal 25% bonus (15,000) plus the new 30% bonus (22,500). That brings you to 97,500 miles, only 2,500 shy of a Business Class seat. You can buy the balance of miles for $81.25 from BA directly. Call it a $81.25 upgrade—for a ticket $3,000 to $7,000 more than economy

Here’s how to get 50,000 BA miles for two people: Buy 20,000 Starpoints for $800 (which nets the 32,500 BA miles with the two bonuses), then buy 17,500 miles from BA directly for $545. Voila! 50,000 BA miles, for $1,345, to use with your two Premium Economy fares, starting at $776. That’s $2,221 for two Business Class tickets (reg. $3,000 to $9000 each)![/aside]

To qualify you must be an existing Starwood Preferred Guest member and a British Airways Executive Club member residing in the US or Canada. To transfer Starpoints to BA miles call (888) 625-4988. The offer is valid through July 20.

BA’s 30% bonus is also valid with other hotel partners, including Marriott Rewards, Priority Club Rewards, Hilton HHonors, Hyatt Gold Passport, and Radisson Goldpoints Plus.

More BA miles fast and cheap Starwood allows you to buy 20,000 Starpoints annually. The cost—4¢ each—is higher than most programs charge. But that 20,000, with the normal 25% bonus, plus the new 30% bonus, nets you 32,000 miles with BA and knocks the actual cost down to only 2.5¢ each.

If you need even more miles British Airways allows you to purchase up to 15,000 miles annually, starting at 2.9¢. Add this to the 32,500 you can get with the Starpoints purchase, and you have 47,500 miles without boarding a plane.

Yet a third way to net more miles fast and easy Remember, too, that BA has a “Household Account” program, which allows up to six members living under one roof to “pool” miles. So, six people can work the above process to net 47,500 miles each—then pool the miles for a total of 285,000.
