A little extra comfort is a big benefit in air travel
As an alternative to a Business or First Class upgrade, Premium Economy seats are the hot ticket. Theyre certainly better than coach. You get more of the one thing that matters most on a long international flight: legroom.
While your company policy may forbid purchasing an international Business Class airfare, it might allow a Premium Economy seat. Then you could try to upgrade to a Business Class seat with miles.

If youre used to flying Business Class, temper your expectations with Premium Economy seats and youll have a better chance of being satisfied. If youre accustomed to coach air travel, you will definitely enjoy the difference. As always, identify as many decent flight options as you can and weigh the trade-offs between cost, schedule, comfort, and loyalty perks.

Flying back to LAX yesterday from Miami, I had really bad news at the airport. As a Platinum American Airline flyer, I was really disappointed to find out that TSA is only allowing people with business and first class seats through the express security lines. This is at a time when other airports are innovating family and frequent flyer lanes. I couldn't get an upgrade but thought I had extra seat room in the old business section on an AA 767 - row 12. Now, they're the same seats and just as narrow as all the other economy seats on AA.

Hello, I am trying to get more miles into my account so I can fly World Traveller Plus for three lax to london heathrow. Anyhow I have purchased the 25k from SPG but can take BA up to 4 weeks to register them and all WTP seats will be gone? Purchased my own 19k and now to set the household account up? Very messy. I love your magazine - I just joined and just joined the BA On Business for my business and I will let you know how it is. Seems too good to be true?
I have a very limited flights I can take (1). Flying Asiana to Seoul and don't want to sit in small seat in economy. How do I get to Business seat without paying a leg and an arm? I have booked the seat on the 777 in economy 34H and back on 26C for the 30th May and 5th June return. Art
